A light object by Isamu Noguchi, a sculptor who is highly regarded in the world. It is loved all over the world as a masterpiece of lighting design that perfectly combines contemporary artistic sensibility with Japanese tradition. The 55D is a pendant type AKARI that hangs from the ceiling.
It is one of the most basic shapes in AKARI, with a spherical silhouette with a diameter of about 55 cm and thin bamboo higo wrapped randomly. Bamboo higo is wound in the position decided by Isamu Noguchi, and all reproduce the same distortion. All AKARI shades are handmade by craftsmen, and the finished AKARI is engraved with the logo.
